Background:
I am a senior at St. Mary’s High School. I
am the son of Patricia Capano and Mario
Capano. I have two brothers. Nicholas is a
senior at Lynn Classical High School and
Jonathan is an eight grader at St. Mary’s
Junior High.
Colleges:
I will attend Providence College in the fall
where I plan to major in political science.
Interests:
I am captain of the St. Mary’s swim team and
a member of the St. Mary’s varsity baseball
team and an MIAA Ambassador. I also enjoy
skiing and basketball. Besides athletics I
am president of the student council, a
member of the national honor society, and
editor of my class’s yearbook.
Awards and Recognitions:
I received the Sonny Man Hill Sportsmanship
Award back in Little League. I was
recognized by St. Anselm College for my
civic duty in my community. I was also
selected to serve on the “Communities that
Care Board” in the City of Lynn to address
teen drug and alcohol issues in the City.
What does the future hold for you?
My future is bright. My hopes for the future
are high and I hope to be successful in
everything I do. I will attend Providence
College in September. I plan to go to law
school after that. I eventually would like
to become a lawyer in Lynn, like my father.
How has St. Mary’s prepared you for the
future?
St. Mary’s has prepared me for the future in
many ways. Academically the school has given
me the tools to succeed in college and in
life. More importantly St. Mary’s has given
me the tools to become a morally sound
adult. The experiences at St. Mary’s have
prepared me for the future and the people
have taught me how to interact with people
around me.
What advantages has growing up in Lynn given
you?
Lynn is one of the best places to grow up.
Growing up in Lynn has taught me to respect
the diversity in people. Respect for others
is one of the intrinsic values in almost
every Lynn kid I know. Growing up in Lynn
has allowed me to grow up with kids from all
over the world, with different cultures, and
from different walks of life. These
experiences allow us to appreciate the value
of diversity. They also and create an
attitude of open mindedness that makes us
more tolerant, educated people.
How can today’s high school students help
make Lynn a great place to live?
My generation holds some of the most
intelligent and technologically advanced
persons of any other generation. Lynn is
already a great place to live. High school
student can make it better by taking pride
in it, and contributing to its value and
keeping it great for the generations that
follow.
