Employer Practices Liability (EPLI)
EPLI provides coverage to employers against employment-related claims such as Wrongful Termination, Discrimination and Harassment. According to a recent article in the “Insurance Journal” US companies had at least a 10.5% chance of having an employment charge filed against them in 2016. With the tremendous publicity given to the horrific sexual harassment stories coming out of Hollywood and the subsequent rise of the #MeToo movement that figure is expected to rise in the coming years.
Fortunately coverage is readily available for this type of loss. Many insurance companies have started to offer Employer Practices Liability coverage on their Businessowners Policies (BOPs).
