Bad Pass Liability

I was tail-gating at Thursday Night's Patriots-Jets game when the obligatory over-thrown football hit an unsuspecting patron in the back.  Although there were no injuries in this instance there could have been if the football had hit the victim in the nose a la Marsha Brady or worse, in the eye.  If there had been a serious injury would there be any liability coverage for the thrower?

The answer is yes if the thrower was covered under a home insurance policy.  This includes renters and condo owners policies as well.  As long as the thrower did not throw intentionally at the victim's head the policy would respond to protect the thrower.  This includes children living at home who are covered under the parents' policy.

The home insurance policy offers very broad personal liability coverage that many people are unaware of.  The case of Marsha Brady's nose is one classic example.
