One of the services we offer our customers is free Registry services. Yesterday was my turn to head over to the local RMV branch to register a car for one of our clients. Before I headed out the door I went on to the RMV's web-site, www.MassRMV.com to see what the wait time was. The web-site told me the wait time for processing registrations was 17 minutes. Ten minutes later I pulled into the parking lot at the Revere RMV to find the line out the door and extending 100 feet down the front of the building.
That is the secret of the wait times listed on the RMV's web-site. The wait time listed begins once you get to the help desk and get your actual service number. In my case it took about an hour to get through the "help" line and get a number. By that time the wait to get served was another 40 minutes. My actual time spent at the RMV was not the 17 minutes shown on the site but one hour and forty minutes.
If you have better things to do than standing in line at the RMV check us out. Not only will we go to the Registry for you, in many cases, we will meet you at your home or place of work to pick up the paperwork. Then, when we are done we will bring your plates back to you.
